En Sonora, madres buscadoras localizaron el cuerpo de Jesús Iván Mercado, conocido como “Rafagita”, joven boxeador amateur de 21 años reportado como desaparecido a inicios de septiembre.
El hallazgo ocurrió a un costado de una autopista, donde fue encontrado envuelto en una sábana con cinta canela, integrantes de un colectivo lo identificaron y notificaron a las autoridades, quienes confirmaron la noticia a su familia.
Mercado era considerado una promesa del boxeo mexicano, pues competía en la división supergallo y se preparaba para una próxima pelea en Hermosillo, Sonora, su estilo se distinguía por la rapidez y fuerza en el golpeo, cualidades que lo perfilaban hacia un futuro en el boxeo profesional.
Hasta el momento se desconocen las causas de su muerte, el colectivo que lo encontró resaltó la importancia de la labor de búsqueda en medio de la crisis de desapariciones que enfrenta el país.
Su familia realiza los trámites correspondientes para recibir el cuerpo, mientras su equipo y gimnasio emitieron un comunicado para despedir y honrar al joven pugilista, cuya trayectoria quedó truncada de forma inesperada.
